BARBATUS

APPELLATION: Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Crete

TYPE: Red dry wine

VARIETAL COMPOSITION: Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Syrah (40%), Merlot (20%)


Tasting Note

It has deep red colour with violet highlights. Nose with intense aromas of red and black fruit with chocolate and spice overtones. It is a mouth filling wine with round, silk tannins of high intensity, quality, and lingering taste.

    • Harvest: Handpicked from mid-September to early October
    • Traditional fermentation for 10-15 days in stainless steel tanks
    • Punching downs every 4 hours during the whole 24 hours to achieve a gentle extraction. Malolactic fermentation
    • Maturation: 24 months in French oak barrels 225 Lt (100% new)
    • Ageing: 24 months in the bottle before release
